Kite Festival: Part of Yonkers Arts Weekend at the Museum
The Kite Festival, emceed by Billy Echevarria and Lucio Parrella from Kites in Motion returns to the Museum Saturday, May 2, with all day activities for all to enjoy indoors and outdoors. FREE, as part of Yonkers Arts Weekend. Outdoors, a scavenger hunt and five kite contests for children and adults takes place all afternoon.
Prizes will be awarded. Hastings musicians Bash the Trash perform on the Museum steps. Indoors, visitors make shadow-kite puppets with Katonah artist Kim McCormack. $2 materials fee for shadow puppet workshop. Food trucks provide refreshments, for purchase. Music and indoor activities rain or shine. Kite Contest, rain date May 3.
