Annea Lockwood and Martin Goldray Concert
New Zealand born Annea Lockwood , sound artist and composer, produces avant-garde works incorporating electronic and environmental sounds, narratives, and non-traditional instruments. From the 1960s to recent years, Lockwood’s dramatic programs included burning defunct pianos, recordings of aquatic insects, and poems of prisoners. Ms. Lockwood is Emerita Professor at Vassar College and recipient of the 2007 Henry Cowell Award.
Ms. Lockwood will perform with Martin Goldray, the Marjorie Leff Miller Faculty Scholar, Fulbright Scholar, and the 2010 Recipient of the Lipkin Family Prize for Inspirational Teaching. A celebrated pianist, conductor and composer, Professor Goldray toured internationally with the Philip Glass Ensemble. Excerpts of her music can be found on this link:
