WRITING WILD: A virtual eco-poetry generative writing intensive

Drawing inspiration from the collosal beauty of the natural world, Writing Wild focuses on writing nature/eco/eco justice poems.  Taught by award-winning poet and editor, Pam Uschuk, this class explores how diverse writers use their observations about and interactions/interconnection with the wild natural world to fuel-inject and enliven their poems. Emphasis is on technique as well as on a spiritual connection to land.  Among the poets referenced are Linda Hogan, WS Merwin, Joy Harjo, Drew Lanham, Camille Dungy, Alison Hawthorne Deming, Alice Walker, Louise Erdrich, Luis Alberto Urrea, Leslie Marmon Silko, etc.   As well as reading and discussing model poems, participants will actively write.  Daily writing prompt and feedback on work generated in the intensive are provided by the instructor.
