Wednesday Morning Concert Breaking Boundaries: Jazz Prodigy in the Morning
Our Wednesday Morning Concert Series includes an exceptional 45-minute concert in the majestic Music Room of the Rosen House followed by a docent-led tour of the Mediterranean-style mansion and the vast collection of fine and decorative art amassed by our founders, Walter and Lucie Rosen.
22 years old Israeli-born pianist Guy Mintus is a recent recipient of the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award by ASCAP and of multiple Down Beat Magazine Student Awards for Outstanding Jazz Performance and Arrangement. Mintus currently resides in New York City, studying at the Manhattan School of Music on a full scholarship and performing at major venues such as the Kennedy Center (DC), Apollo Theater, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Symphony Space, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola – Jazz At Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub, Birdland, and more. As an artist, composer, and arranger, Mintus’ strong natural curiosity and privilege to interact with the best mentors has led him to become invested in a variety of musical styles. With creativity as his leading force, he is fully dedicated to the exploration and stretch of boundaries between musical traditions and various art disciplines.
