The Sanctuary Series presents, “Bach to Blue” featuring pianist Jeffrey Biegel
Jeffrey Biegel returns to the Series where two years ago his virtuosic playing and engaging personality thrilled the audience. His electrifying technique and mesmerizing touch have received critical acclaim worldwide, including from Leonard Bernstein who in 1985 called him: “a splendid musician and a brilliant performer.” His reputation continues to grow as evidenced by his hectic schedule and how often he is heard on WQXR. Also known for his chamber music collaborations, he is a member of the Dicterow-DeMaine-Biegel piano trio. A composer and arranger, Mr. Biegel presents works by composers who were virtuosos in their own right, including Ghershwin’s rarely heard 1924 original manuscript with 88 missing measures.
