Submission Sundays – A Monthly Gathering at the HVWC

Submission Sundays is free for Members but space is limited to the first 20 sign-ups each month. We offer a small, intimate group gathering one Sunday a month to offer support and information for members to submit their own work to journals, agents, and publishers.

Two long-time HVWC students, one with an MFA from Sarah Lawrence, will create a casual supportive environment in which to work. Refreshments will be served and please feel free to bring something, as an option.Each Sunday session, Carla Carlson and Mary Ann Scott will introduce a different topic. For example, theu will talk about letters to the editor. They will announce current contests. They will show everyone where the market resources are. People can work at the table independently or help each other. Mary Ann and Carla will be there to answer questions about anything related to the process.

We will have a serious focus on physically getting things out, not just talking about the process. We all know how hard it is to get the time to do this. Not only the time but the courage. So we’ll take full advantage of our time and each other’s support.

Please bring your laptop if you have one. Most submissions can be done online. We will also supply envelopes and anyone sending hard copy can use the printer.

NB: This is free to all members (at any level) in good standing. If you are not yet a member, pay $45 before your sign up.
