Come share your love for visual art and literature at the KMA’s reading group. We begin with a curator-led tour of Object Out Loud: Arman and Nick Cave and continue with a lively discussion of Zadie Smith’s new novel, Swing Time. In this sweeping tale of a friendship between two young dancers in North London, Smith delves into subjects of race, class, and self-knowledge. Join in on this merging of cultural disciplines, breaking down boundaries between art and everyday life. Light refreshments will be served.
This month’s facilitator is Pamela Hart, writer in residence at the Katonah Museum of Art where she teaches an arts-in-education program called Thinking Through the Arts. Her manuscript, Mothers Over Nangarhar, was selected as winner of the 2017 Kathryn A. Morton prize in poetry. She received the Brian Turner Literary Arts prize for poetry and was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts poetry fellowship in 2013. She is poetry editor and mentor for the Afghan Women’s Writing Project.
