Opening Reception “Wax and Fire Works” by Richard Coico

Join us on Saturday July 23rd from 5 to 8pm as we introduce a series of new encaustic artworks by local artist Richard Coico.

A lifelong fascination of science, medicine, and nature continues to inspire and influence Coico’s  artistic journey with encaustics; a medium that is difficult to manipulate and somewhat unpredictable, and that’s what captivates the artist’s imagination. The spontaneity in creating with bee’s wax keeps him wondering what will happen next. This exhibit is about discovery, movement and the unique, mysterious blending of wax, colors and fire.

Join us for light refreshments and to meet the artist. This opening is coinciding with the Katonah Art Walk.
