Game Design
We play games on consoles, PCs, and mobile devices but did you ever wonder how to build an interactive game? The gaming industry is an exciting, burgeoning field that requires both technical ability and creativity. Students will be designing and programming games and learning gaming concepts. Students will construct games, design characters, build terrains, and interactive user experiences using the program Unity 3D.
CE-DGART 2132PE, M, Sept. 9-Oct. 21, 6:30-8:30 pm.

Digital 3D Modeling
In this course, we will explore the world of digital 3D modeling using the program, Blender. Over the last four decades DCC (Digital Content Creation) programs have become sophisticated, friendly to use, and accessible. This is a foundation course in digital 3D modeling. This course will cover an extensive range of modeling techniques and build a strong foundation for continued work in digital 3D modeling. Students will complete modeling exercises and create original works of their own design.
CE-DGART 2131PE, T, Sept. 10-Oct. 22, 6:30-8:30 pm.

Game Programming 1
Through this course, you will learn to utilize the Unity game engine and the powerful C# scripting language to develop polished games. Students will create two different games, 2D and 3D, that explore various features of game development. The course material begins with the fundamentals of game development and gradually builds up to more advanced techniques and abilities. By course completion students will be able to develop their own games through the Unity game engine and write code with C# scripting language.
CE-DGART 2130PE, M, Oct. 28-Dec. 9, 6:30-8:30 pm.

Game Programming 2: Introduction to Technologies of Virtuality
Learn fundamental XR concepts and characteristics and explore basic questions regarding the nature of virtuality. Students will also get introduced to XR hardware and software and learn about XR applications across different industries. Get the big picture of XR experience design, starting with the key terms used in the XR design process. Students will also explore key design elements, principles, and approaches and learn to consider user needs and values in the design process.
CE-DGART 2138PE, T, Oct. 29-Dec. 10, 6:30-8:30 pm.

Augmented, Virtual & Mixed Reality
Students will explore the endless possibilities of augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality and immersive computing technologies. Students will be exposed to the technical and experiential design foundation required for the implementation of immersive environments in current and future virtual, augmented and mixed reality platforms. Students will be active participants in designing their immersive worlds using the program Unity 3D.
CE-DGART 2133PE, M, Jan. 6-Feb. 24, 2025 (skip 1/20), 6:30-8:30 pm.

Portfolio Development
Students will create a portfolio that represents their individual body of work. During the last seven-weeks of the certificate program, students will investigate different types of portfolio styles and construct a portfolio that is web and physical based, comprised of completed and on-going projects.
