Gentle Yoga & Creative Meditation / Mandala Coloring

This is a two-hour workshop in person at HVWC. The first hour a gentle Yoga class – suitable for teens (16+) and adults of all ages & abilities, followed by mandala coloring. Teacher provides all crafting materials to include crayons, colored markers and pencils, and a selection of printouts of mandalas of varying difficulty from very easy to very intricate. Participants need to bring their own Yoga mat and any props they may use for their practice.

Angela Derecas Taylor is a native New Yorker hailing from 1960’s Greenwich Village, where she was raised in a family of restaurateurs. She had a 20-year career as chef, caterer and event planner, first on luxury charter yachts and then in luxury resorts and historic hotels, including the Waldorf-Astoria. Currently, Angela works in the mayor’s office of a Westchester County municipality, a mid-life career change prompted by marriage and the birth of her two sons. She is also a certified Yoga instructor, teaching classes and workshops in the lower Hudson Valley.

Angela shares stories about all of the above. Her stories have been published in The Westchester Review, Breadcrumbs Magazine and Read650 anthologies. She has been a featured live storyteller with Generation Women, StoryBOOM!, Every Family’s Got One, and Writes & Bites. Angela has performed on The Moth MAIN-STAGE and been featured on The Moth Radio hour on NPR. She’s a member of the For the Love of Words storytellers, and the Under the Bridge writer’s group, and is the recipient of a Gurfein Fellowship Honorable Mention from the Sarah Lawrence College Writing Institute.
