Family Reading Workshops: Exploring African-American Traditions and Experiences through Picture Books
Family Reading Workshops: Exploring African-American Traditions and Experiences through Picture Books
Families are invited to discover the beauty and messages gained from children’s picture with African-American themes. Vicki Rashbaum will lead the sessions for parents in the library’s Meeting Room, while their children (ages Pre-K through Grade 5 only) will meet with Jeani Miller in the children’s room. Ms. Rashbaum, a former social worker at Barnard School, has been inspiring children and parents to enjoy reading (and they have inspired her!) for the past 25 years. Ms. Miller is a Webster School teacher and a popular storyteller. Participants need not attend all three session, but space is limited and registration is necessary. Please call (914) 813-3706.
