Emerson String Quartet Concert

We welcome the return of this world-renowned ensemble. The Seattle Times has placed it “high in the pantheon of chamber music,” while The Times (London) has enthused, “with musicians like these there must be some hope for humanity.”

Over the years we have built a special relationship with the Emerson, which will be making its 15th appearance on our series. Unfortunately, however, it will be its last. One of the supreme ensembles of the world, its members have announced that the completion of their 2022-23 season will mark the end of their more than 30-year run.

Their program on this occasion will include:

• Felix Mendelssohn, String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 12
• Johannes Brahms, String Quartet No. 1 in C minor, Op. 51, No. 1
• George Walker, “Lyric” for String Quartet
• Antonín Dvořák, String Quartet in A-flat Major, Op. 105
