Budget Hearing: pARTicipate and be counted
Arts funding slashed in county’s 2016 Budget. We need your help NOW.
The County Executive’s proposed budget was released Friday and calls for a 20% cut in funding for the arts. As devastating as the loss of 2016 funds is, our concern is that it is a sign of eroding county support for the arts. Next year’s budget is likely to be even more challenging. County legislators have a short window of time to restore funds. They need to know that residents are concerned about cuts to the arts.
Please attend the public hearings on the budget on November 24. Numbers count. We need hundreds of people to join us at the hearing or we simply won’t be effective.
