ARTalk: Connection and Transcendence at the Katonah Museum of Art

Michael Gitlitz, Executive Director of the Katonah Museum of Art, will talk about the history, mission, and architecture of the KMA while featuring several past, current, and future exhibitions of note at the Museum. He will also discuss how the KMA and his vision are driven by a desire to create connections within communities and with the intention of creating experiences of transcendence through art for all ages. In addition, he will touch upon how the Museum has remained vital through artists’ and scholars’ talks and virtual exhibitions. Gitlitz received a Post-Graduate Diploma in the Fine and Decorative Arts from Sotheby’s Institute in London and worked with important galleries such as Hirschl & Adler Modern and the Marlborough Gallery before assuming his role as Executive Director at the KMA in 2018
