A History of Tea in 12 Cups

Justin Fornal, a Fellow of the Explorers Club and President of the Bronx Pipe Smoking Society, will speak about the history of 12 types of tea. Participants are invited to drink green matcha, learn how one grades a Darjeeling, ages a Pu’er, and smokes a Lapsang Souchong within the framework of a Victorian tea party.

This program complements the Museum’s current exhibition, The Neo-Victorians: Contemporary Artists Revive Gilded-Age Glamour. #HRMNeoVictorians examines the contemporary revival of interest in ornamental lushness and dedication to craft that once defined the style of the Victorian era, with works of art from more than 20 contemporary artists that conceal pointed social commentary beneath seductive surface techniques.

Free with Museum admission.
