2014 Jazz Fest – A Tribute to Miles Davis
Jazz master, trumpeter, composer and leader of ground breaking jazz bands from the 1950s to the 1980s, Miles Davis, inspired generations of Jazz musicians and fans with ground-breaking sounds and styles that played a major role in the evolution of the music from Bebop, to cool jazz to jazz-rock fusion and beyond.
In this evening’s concert master musicians of the Westchester jazz scene, under the direction of guitarist Wali Ali and pianist Bob Baldwin pay homage to this legacy in a grand collaboration bringing many decades of experience and to the stage for a grand evening culmination of the 2014 White Plains Jazz fest before the final Mamaroneck Avenue festival the following day. They will be joined by Ray Blue on saxophone and Harvie S on bass and Antoine Drye on Trumpet.
