Learn about our expanded Boys Program, new Tap and Jazz classes for kindergarten and grade 1 and a Combined Ballet/Tap class for preschoolers.
In Boys’ Movement, a fun, energetic and inviting class, dancers explore and create their own moves while working on strength, agility, flexibility, and coordination using popular music and the foundations of dance movement.
Youngest dancers, 1 – 3 years, and their parents/caregivers, have a fun-filled class of their own developing motor skills, musicality and imagination through creative movement and movement games. 10-week sessions throughout the year, provide many opportunities to make new friends.
Creative Movement, an interactive, exploratory Pre-K class focuses on movement fundamentals and developing fine and gross motor skills; preschoolers explore shapes, levels and dynamics; structured improvisation games and exercises encourage creativity and self- awareness.
The School conducts a program of Core Classes in Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip-Hop for Kindergartners through teens and a full complement of level – based classes in Modern, Ballet, and Jazz. Performance opportunities are available for all; live music is a part of most classes.
Our Adaptive Dance program includes Moving Wheels & Heels, adaptive classes for dancers 4 years old – adult with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities; wheelchairs and stand-ups welcome and Parkinson’s Dance, taught by dancers trained in the Mark Morris Dance for Parkinson’s method which addresses issues of balance, flexibility, and fluidity using movement from ballet, jazz, modern dance, musical theater, folk dance, tap, and social dancing and music from the Great American Song Book, classical, pop, and jazz.
Our faculty is built of professional performers and educators from the metro area dance community; they transmit the joy and discipline of dance with warmth and enthusiasm to dancers of all ages and abilities. Each student is encouraged to strive for their own personal best. Lifelong friendships are formed in our supportive, non-competitive environment.
