¡Viva Flamenco! Online Family Friendly Workshops with Rebeca Tomás
Join local Flamenco Artist Rebeca Tomás and members of her A Palo Seco Flamenco Company for “Viva Flamenco!” – a series of four online Family-Friendly Flamenco Workshops brought to you by Warner Library and supported by ArtsWestchester during Hispanic Heritage Month 2020.

All four workshops will feature Flamenco dance and movement for the whole family, including fancy footwork (zapateo) and rhythmic hand-clapping (palmas). Following the dance section, each workshop will focus on something specific in Flamenco, led by dancers and musicians from A Palo Seco Flamenco Company:
- Workshop 1 (9/15/20): CANTE- Learn to sing some Flamenco lyrics!
- Workshop 2 (9/22/20): RHYTHM- Learn the intricacies of Flamenco hand-clapping, the Cajon (rhythmic wooden box), and Castanets.
- Workshop 3 (9/29/20): GUITAR- Learn some of the techniques and, even if you don’t play, enjoy some amazing Flamenco Guitar strumming!
- Workshop 4 (10/6/20): LIVE DEMONSTRATION – Watch members of the company PERFORM sections of pieces from company repertoire. Roundtable Discussion & Questions and Answers to follow.
