The Poet You Can Be: A Poetry Workshop for Beginners and Others with Amy Holman via Zoom
Our Writers Center community and neighbors have requested an Introduction to Poetry Writing workshop, and here is the next one in our series! This workshop invites those new to writing poetry and those returning to their love of it, to learn what makes a poem happen, from economy of language to clarity of imagery, its rhythms and structures, as well as the poet’s emotions, experiences, and ideas. We will read through poems that employ different approaches and techniques, and students will write to prompts in class and as homework. You should feel free to explore and experiment, and encourage your classmates.
This class will be taught via Zoom on six consecutive Mondays. The Zoom link will be emailed at the time of registration. (Please check spam / promotions filters and write to ask@writerscenter.org with any questions.) Registration is $370 at:
