The Great Leap

The Great Leap, by Lauren Yee beginning September 30th at Arc Stages. 

“Every game is a second chance to live your life all over again.” San Francisco, spring 1989. Manford Lum, locally renowned on the sidewalk basketball courts of Chinatown, talks his way onto a college team, just before they travel to Beijing for a “friendship” game. When they arrive, China is in the throes of the post-Cultural Revolution era, and Manford must juggle international politics and his own personal history.

Performances will be held at Arc Stages, located at 147 Wheeler Avenue in Pleasantville NY.

The Great Leap will be presented as part of Arc Stages’ professional company, the Next Stage. The Next Stage focuses on showcasing new, innovative work by a wide variety of exciting and talented writers. It is the third wing of a company that also includes a thriving Educational Stage and Community Stage.
