Sunday Evening Jazz: Claudio Roditi Quartet
Brazilian jazz trumpeter Claudio Roditi came to the U.S. to study at the Berklee College of Music in 1970 before moving to New York. Roditi has played with Charlie Rouse and Herbie Mann, and in the early ’80s, started working regularly with Paquito D’Rivera. The reliable trumpeter has been on many straight-ahead recording sessions, in addition to being a member of Dizzy Gillespie’s United Nation Orchestra. Roditi recorded as a leader for Green Street, Uptown, Candid, and Reservoir, among other labels. See the Claudio Roditi Quartet feat. Tomoko Ohno, piano, John Lee, bass and Samuel Martinelli, drums at the Jazz Forum!
