preschool dance classes

Steffi Nossen School of Dance will have outdoor dance classes at the Greenburgh Nature Center’s Great Lawn.

Parent & Toddler classes for 18 months – 3 years at 10:00  – 10:45.  As children grow, dance can be a fun and creative way to learn about how our youngest students can express their unique personalities through movement. Parents and caregivers are invited to be a part of this fun-filled class where children can release energy, learn balance and coordination, and develop fine and gross motor skills while opening their imaginations through creative movement while dancing outdoors within the trees, birds and nature that surrounds us.

Creative Movement (3-5 yrs) is an interactive, exploratory class designed for our Pre-K dancers. It focuses on basic movement fundamentals and developing fine and gross motor skills and musicality while learning about shapes, levels and dynamics. Structured improvisation games and exercises encourage children’s creativity and self- awareness while providing an excellent introduction for the future study of all dance techniques. This class will be outdoors and we will be dancing together while learning about and inspired by the nature that  surrounds us.
