“Mandalas for Mindfulness” by Doreen Grozinger at the Harrison Public Library
Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Mandalas for Mindfulness” by Doreen Grozinger at the Harrison Public Library on view September 8 to October 4, 2019; meet the artist September 14 from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
ARTIST STATEMENT: In order to find our own inner truth, we need to become still, allowing our inner voice to be heard. It is the creative path that I have found to bring me to that place, allowing the art to reveal and reflect insightful messages. The mandala, a sacred circle, is an art form that brings me peace and healing. Through the creative process, the mandala has become a vehicle in helping me find a place of stillness and inner reflection.
In addition to creating art, Doreen has taught art to children beginning at Artworks of Westchester and continuing at Harrison Recreation, Little Rembrandt, Harrison Children’s Center preschool art program and at her gallery, Room to Create.
Doreen has had solo exhibits as well as with her late husband, John in Harrison and Rye. Doreen has created murals which have enhanced many local venues. In 2012 she and John opened Room to Create in Harrison, NY.
The exhibit may be viewed Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30am to 9:00pm; Tuesdays, Thursdays-, Saturdays 9:30am to 5:30pm and Sundays 1 to 5pm. For info call the Library 914-835-0324 or see harrisonpl.org.
