Black History Month Celebration
The New Rochelle Council on the Arts is co-sponsoring the Annual Black History Month Celebration at New Rochelle High School on February 10, 2018. Presented by WABSE (Westchester Alliance of Black School Educators) and the New Rochelle History Month Committee, and co-sponsored by the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence, the event will run from 4 to 8 pm and include spoken word performances, art, face painting, book signings, a scavenger hunt and more. There will also be African arts and crafts vendors, book sales and signings, and food vendors. The theme of this year’s event is freedom through activism, commemorating the life and accomplishments of Harriet Tubman.
