An Evening with Author Dani Shapiro

The Harrison Public Library is partnering with the Jewish Community Center of Harrison for this special author event featuring the author of our One Book, One Community Read — Dani Shapiro.

Dani Shapiro will be discussing her latest memoir, Inheritance: A Memoir of Genealogy, Paternity and Love. The acclaimed author of Hourglass has written a new memoir about identity, paternity, and family secrets as she explores the staggering discovery she recently made about her father, and her struggle to piece together the hidden story of her own life.

Shapiro shares more than a detailed account of her personal experience, she also weaves in childhood memories, the history of artificial insemination, flashbacks to the parents who raised her, who are both deceased, and a moving account of her emotional state as she pondered her identity and what her sense of family would be in the future.
