Walkabout Clearwater Coffeehouse presents a live performance virtually: “Deeper Than the Skin” featuring Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway

Deeper Than the Skinfeaturing Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway is a musical journey incorporating narrative, poetry and reflection on the complex topic of racism and its legacy in America.

Reggie and Greg have a unique story. Born three days apart, ancestry flowing through the same portal of history, Richmond, VA, they are on a pilgrimage together – one that began three decades ago.  The racial divisions that are the reality of America, started them in two different worlds, but the amazing bonds of music, respect, admiration and shared vision, have brought them together as friends and colleagues.

Reggie Harris is the Music Education Director of the Living Legacy Project of the UUA, co-leading tours of the hallowed grounds of the Civil Rights movement in the South. He is a Woodrow Wilson scholar, and as part of the folk duo, Kim & Reggie Harris, has led hundreds of programs on race and social justice.

Greg Greenway is a singer, songwriter and activist, and was formerly part of the popular folk harmony trio, Brother Sun.  From the earliest days of his songwriting career, Greg was known for his compelling songs of social justice, and at Reggie’s request, he became part of the planning committee for Marching in the Ark of Justice, the Unitarian Universalist conference commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Selma Voting Rights Action.
