Womens Voices -Benefit Concert with Bev Grant, Carolann Solebello, Trouble Sisters (Laurie Siegel and Melissa Ortquist), Lindsey Wilson

WOMENS VOICES – Proceeds from this concert will support the work of an area not-for-profit involved in the Nationwide problem of missing and murdered indigenous women.

BEV GRANT (Songwriter, Activist, Author, Photographer) is a brilliant feminist pioneer with a true rock and roll heart! Bev grew up singing and playing in Portland, Oregon, where she began her performing career as a child in a band with her two sisters. After moving to New York City, she devoted herself to topical songwriting and social activism, notably in her band The Human Condition. Bev is featured on the Grammy-nominated Best of Broadside album and is the founder and director of the Brooklyn Women’s Chorus.  Her song “We Were There” has become an anthem of women in the labor movement, and many other of her award-winning songs can be found on her numerous recordings.

CAROLANN SOLEBELLO is a performing songwriter born and bred in New York City.  Best known to folk audiences as a founding member of Americana trio Red Molly. She now tours both solo and with modern folk quartet No Fuss and Feathers. Carolann’s smooth, compelling voice and warm acoustic guitar style surely nod to rural folk traditions, yet her decidedly urban sense of rhythm and sophisticated vocal phrasing bend those traditional forms into more contemporary shapes. She is a proud member of the Jack Hardy Songwriters’ Exchange and has won numerous songwriting awards. Carolann released her fifth solo album, Shiver, in February 2018.
