The Westchester Chamber Music Society is excited to present, (for the first time,) The Calidore String Quartet. Please join us for a special musical afternoon followed by our traditional wine and cheese reception where patrons have the opportunity to meet the artists. As always, seating is open for this concert where you will enjoy chamber music in an intimate and acoustically superb setting.

The group plans to perform Haydn: Quartet No. 2, op. 77, Shaw: (New York) and Beethoven: Quartet No. 12, op. 131, “GoBe Fuge”

The Calidore String Quartet’s “deep reserves of virtuosity and irrepressible dramatic instinct” (New York Times) and “balance of intellect and expression” (Los Angeles Times) have won them accolades across the globe and firmly established them as one of the finest chamber music ensembles performing today. The Calidore won the Grand-Prize of the inaugural M-Prize International Chamber Music Competition in 2016.  In 2017, they were honored with the Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, and they were recently awarded the 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant.  Highlights of their 2017-2018 season include debuts at the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and the BBC Proms as well as in Paris, Brussels, Cologne, and Barcelona.  We are delighted to announce the debut performance of The Calidore String Quartet for members and guests of the Westchester Chamber Music Society.
