The Symphony of Westchester “Mostly Mozart” Concert
Flutist Carol Wincenc, who last performed with the Symphony of Westchester in 2010, will again be the featured soloist, performing Flute Concerto no. 1, K.313, in G major.
Known for her dedication to expanding the flute repertoire, she has premiered many pieces written for her and was the founder of a series of International Flute Festivals in St. Paul. She has appeared with orchestras in St. Louis, Atlanta, Seattle, Los Angeles and St. Paul and has participated in several U.S. and international music festivals.
In addition to the “Mostly Mozart” bill, the Feb. 9 concert will include the annual “Composers of the Future” program, which the Symphony runs in collaboration with New Rochelle’s Songcatchers after-school program.
