The Symphony of Westchester Family Concert
The winner of the Symphony of Westchester’s Young Artist Competition will be announced at its annual Family Concert on Sun., Feb. 7, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Iona College’s Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium.
The winner, a Westchester conservatory student chosen by audition, will perform a movement of a concerto from the Baroque or Classical music period.
In addition, the Symphony will perform pieces written by students in the Composers of the Future program, a 15-year-old collaboration with New Rochelle’s Songcatchers after-school program. Noted radio host Robert Sherman will narrate Three Riddles in the Ancient Tradition by Seymour Barab.
A snow date for this concert has been set for Sat., Feb. 6 at 3:00 p.m. The decision to use the snow date will be made on Fri., Feb. 5 and available on the Symphony’s website, www.thesymphonyofwestchester.org and by phone, (914) 654-4926.
This concert is suitable for children ages 4 and older. Ticket prices are $15 general admission and $5 for all students.
