The Symphony of Westchester All Baroque Concert
– Two Symphony of Westchester violinists will step out of their section to perform Bach’s Double Violin Concerto BWV 1043 in D minor as part of an all-Baroque program on Sun., Dec. 15 at 3:00 p.m., at Iona College’s Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium.
Concertmaster Alex Abayev and first violinist Tetyana Byelgorodska are the featured soloists. Abayev will also perform Bach’s Violin Concerto no. 1, BWV 1041 in A minor. The program also includes Pachabel’s Canon and Handel’s Concerto Grosso, op. 6 no. 1.
In addition to being the Symphony’s concertmaster, Abayev performs as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States and abroad and participates in many international music festivals. Byelgorodska, a former concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, has toured extensively throughout Europe, Japan and South Korea.
