A benefit concert for the Child Abuse Prevention Center of NY*

The Kennedys
In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Pete and Maura Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, and a Byrds-inspired jangle that drew the attention of Roger McGuinn, Steve Earle, and most notably Nanci Griffith. The duo co-produced Nanci’s latest CD. On their own recent release, “Closer Than You Know,” the songs have a quality, inherent in Maura’s voice, that is both soothing and urgent. Rolling Stone says it’s “Byrdsy jangle, boy-girl harmonies…irresistible”. As writers and producers, the Kennedys continue to mature, from their early style-conscious pop to today’s burnished sheen. Always tuned to their own muse, Pete and Maura have once again come up with a unique sound that is as uplifting as it is unclassifiable.

Rod MacDonald
A Rod MacDonald concert is an intimate, authentic, and uplifting experience. From the moment Rod begins to sing, he grabs his audiences and doesn’t let go. By turns wry and sentimental, then tart and silly, his music is infectious and inspiring, often humorous, sometimes reckless, usually thought provoking – and – always compelling, leaving his audiences wanting more. All Music Guide writes … “one of the most politically and socially aware lyricists of our time.” Rod MacDonald’s songs have been recorded by Shawn Colvin, Jonathan Edwards, Dave Van Ronk, and 4 Bitchin’ Babes.

Montgomery Delaney
Montgomery Delaney has been noted by his fans and peers alike, as one of the most interesting and unusual singer/songwriters in America. “An outstanding songwriter” — Dirty Linen Magazine”. For 30 years, he has entertained thousands of audiences with his beautiful, thoughtful and often provocative songs. ” If you get a chance to hear him, do just that!” –New York Times.
