Steffi Nossen 89th Anniversary Dance Concert
Steffi Nossen Dance celebrates its 89th anniversary in a concert on Saturday, March 14th at the Tarrytown Music Hall; performance time is 7:00 pm and will be preceded a 5:30 pm reception and silent auction raising funds for its financial aid and outreach programs extending the benefits and joy of dance to Westchesterites who underserved or have special needs. We are honored to present this year’s Benefit Concert at the historic Tarrytown Music Hall, the oldest theater in Westchester, which first opened its doors in 1885.
For 89 years, the School has proudly carried forward the legacy of our founder, Steffi Nossen’s vision, curriculum, and passion for dance education, lineage, and history that continue to shape our community today.
On the program are work by Jessica DiMauro Marks and Annie Doss, both Westchesterites and both alumnae of the Steffi Nossen School of Dance who have gone on to professional careers in dance and choreography. Also on the program will be a new work by acclaimed choreographer Sonia Dawkins who has choreographed a piece on the Steffi Nossen Dance Company to music by Vanessa Williams, a Steffi Nossen alumna. Emerging choreographers Kierstyn Edore, Sarah Kramer, and Julia Lawton have created work to be performed by the pre-professional dancers in our Master Class Program alongside the Steffi Nossen Dance Company and DanceTheater Group.
In celebration of the Music Hall’s rich history and the enduring partnership between music and dance we are thrilled to welcome New Moon Recruit who will perform live during the reception and has collaborated with Artistic Director Jessica DiMauro Marks on a new piece to be premiered on the program.
The concert will be preceded by a reception and silent auction at 5;30 PM
