Ram Dass: Going Home

The Meditative Life opening night. With conversation and reception. Ram Dass, one of the most important spiritual teachers of our time, is approaching the end of life with fearless joy and honesty. Known for his association with Timothy Leary in the early 1960s and as the author of the seminal 1971 Be Here Now, Ram Dass continues to live richly and deeply, though his physical body was disabled by a stroke. In this gorgeous and lyrical 32-minute film, he shares his personal practice and philosophy—centered on peace, love, compassion, and connection—as well as intimate details of his daily life. It is an honor to spend this time with him at his home on Maui.

Conversation with Krishna Das moderated by Garrison Institute’s Jane Kolleeny

Krishna Das spent the late ’60s as a student of Ram Dass, who led him to his beloved guru, Neem Karoli Baba (Maharajji). In his book Chants of a Lifetime: Searching for a Heart of Gold, KD writes about his journey over all the years, and now travels the world sharing his kirtan practice and wonderful stories of his life on the Path, of Maharaji-ji, bringing chanting into our lives through retreats and workshops. He is a Grammy-nominated artist who has taken the call-and-response chanting of kirtan out of yoga centers and into concert halls around the world, and has recently released his 15th album, Trust in the Heart.
