Per Amor Vostro (Anna)
One of Jonathan Demme’s favorites from his 2015 Venice Film Festival experience, Per Amor Vostrotells the story of a woman named Anna (Valeria Golino, Rain Man, HBO’s In Treatment), the mother of three teenagers and wife to Gigi (Massimiliano Gallo), a failed singer and bitter man. In search of an escape from her volatile home life, Anna gets a job at a local TV station where she meets a handsome soap star. The two begin an affair but their storybook romance comes with its own set of complications. Director Giuseppe M. Gaudino’s first narrative feature in over a decade is a visually stunning, often surreal drama. Golino received the Coppa Volpi best actress award for her performance, which Demme described as “funny, deep, and extraordinarily sublime.”
