Parkinson’s Dance Summer Series
Come dance in Free weekly classes for people with Parkinson’s , mobiity concerns, and their care partners. Increase coordination, balance, flexibility, and strength through movement from a broad range of dance styles. Sheri Cowart will lead classes in the research-based and internationally recognized Mark Morris Dance for PD program. Sheri , , will lead participants to experience the grace, fluidity, and power of dance in a social, joyful, and supportive environment. Come solo or bring a partner sit or stand as you prefer.
A graduate of Occidental College with a BA in Speech and Drama, Sheri enjoyed a musical theater career spanning several decades, performing on Broadway, in national and international tours, regional theaters, and in films, commercials, television specials and industrials. Sheri’s second act included receiving an MA degree in Occupational Therapy from Mercy College leading to an 18 year career as an OT at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. After training in the Mark Morris Dance for PD program, Sheri is happy in her third act teaching Dance for Parkinson classes through Steffi Nossen Dance Foundation.
