Parenthood and Poetry with Lily Akerman (Zoom)

How does poetry express parenthood?  We’ll read poems that have attempted to do so, and we’ll attempt the task ourselves. A class will include some combination of reading and discussing published poetry, in-class writing exercises, and workshopping our own poems with the group.  Our reading will span poets from William Blake to Kevin Young, Meghan O’Rourke, and Jessica Traynor.  Any amount of writing experience is welcome.
