LIVESTREAM: The Pacifica Quartet & NY Phil Principal Clarinetist Anthony McGill: Barrier Breaking Musicians & Composers focus on Diversity and Inclusion in Classical Music

This exciting concert will be followed by a Q&A with the members of the The Pacifica Quartet.

The Pacifica is one of the world’s most celebrated string ensembles.
Anthony McGill is principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic–the first
African-American principal player in the organization’s history.

This unique program reflects the commitment of the Pacifica Quartet
& Anthony McGill to performing works by underrepresented composers,
including contemporary African-American composer James Lee III;
Florence Price, the first African-American woman to have a composition
played by a major symphony orchestra; and female composer
Fanny Mendelssohn.

Program:

Florence Price: Quartet in G major
James Lee III: Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet
(World Premiere)
Fanny Mendelssohn: String Quartet in E-flat major
