Juneteenth: Songs for Our Fathers

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts is proud to participate in New Rochelle’s Juneteenth Celebration, presented by the Lincoln Park Conservancy, Inc. and the City of New Rochelle. The theme this year is Songs for Our Fathers and the celebration will include events produced by a coalition of community organizations taking place at 8 locations throughout New Rochelle.   The events will begin on June 4 at the New Rochelle Public Library with an exhibit on the Lincoln Avenue Corridor and end on June 20 with a Trolley Tour of Historic Black Enclaves narrated by City Historian Barbara Davis.  The New Rochelle Council on the Arts’ will present an exhibit entitled “A Tribute to Fathers” opening at the NRCA Rotunda Gallery at City Hall on June 13 and closing on July 31.  For information and a full schedule of New Rochelle’s Juneteenth events, visit: facebook.com/tlpcjuneteenthcelebration for dates, times and locations.
