Ballet is taken to the next level as Hiplet’s smashing sensation goes viral! Hiplet™ (hip•lay) is an innovative dance form. It’s where evolution meets revolution! Classical pointe technique is infused with African, Latin, hip-hop and urban movements. The rhythms of African drums intersect with Tchaikovsky, as arabesques merge into beat-boxing or even Tango en pointe – all while showcasing Hiplet’s trademark sass, hip movements, and struts. Audiences will recognize the popular music from Black Violin to Beyoncé and Prince. Its founder, Homer Hans Bryant, has trained celebrities from Lady Gaga to the Obamas.
