Dont Look Back

Acclaimed documentarian D.A. Pennebaker (Monterey Pop) accompanied Bob Dylan to England for a three-week tour in the spring of 1965. Recording several brilliant solo performances and capturing a wealth of fly-on-the-wall footage of Dylan’s interactions with friends (Joan Baez, Donovan) and strangers, Pennebaker caught Dylan on the cusp of a radical career change as he shifted from acoustic to electric, leaving his folkie troubadour persona behind. Featuring some of his most famous songs, including “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” and “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue,” Dont Look Back is a radically conceived portrait of an American icon.
