Centennial Celebration of Safety Last! with live musical accompaniment

Enjoy a special JBFC Kids event of one of America’s most iconic silent films—Harold Lloyd’s 1923 romantic-comedy, Safety Last! Along with Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd was one of the top silent comedians of his day, and this year, his masterpiece Safety Last! celebrates the centennial anniversary of its release. Lloyd plays an ambitious young man who moves from the country to the big city. In order to get ahead at his department store job, he comes up with a marketing stunt to draw crowds to the store, but when things don’t go according to plan, it’s up to Lloyd’s character to pull off the death-defying event. Safety Last! is a timeless comedy full of jaw-dropping moments and hilarious feats of physical stunts decades before digital special effects suspended actors in front of green screens.
