The Symphony of Westchester has announced an Oct. 30 application deadline for its third annual Young Artist Competition.
Auditions will be held on Tues., Nov. 10, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium, in Iona College’s Murphy Science Building, 715 North Ave., New Rochelle. A second audition round for finalists will be held on Tues., Nov. 17 at the same time and place. Both audition sessions are open to the public.
The winner will perform a movement of a concerto from the Baroque or Classical music period with the Symphony of Westchester at their annual Family Program on Sun., Feb. 7, 2016 at Iona College. The fully professional orchestra is in its 19th concert season at Iona.
The competition is open to all instruments and is exclusive to students attending a music conservatory in Westchester. More information and the application form are available on the Symphony’s website: www.thesymphonyofwestchester.org.
