Appalachian Spring

|

This event includes a screening followed by a Q&A. Opening night of the series “Warming the Screen: The Film Music of Aaron Copland.”

Appalachian Spring is one of our nation’s emblematic artworks, embodying the optimism, independence, and integrity of the uncorrupted American spirit. Copland’s magical, affecting, and buoyant score won the 1945 Pulitzer Prize. This rare film, which features choreographer Martha Graham dancing the lead role as the young Shaker bride, cemented the reputations of Copland and Graham as two of the 20th century’s foremost artistic figures.

Q&A Michael Boriskin, artistic and executive director, Copland House
