Night of the Comet
“A good-natured, end-of- the-world B-movie, written and directed by Thom Eberhardt, a new film maker whose sense of humor augments rather than upstages the mechanics of the melodrama.” (Vincent Canby, NY Times)
When the earth passes through the tail of a comet, practically everyone is zapped into a pile of red dust, but another form of evil lurks in the shadows. It’s up to a pair of Valley Girls to defend their city—in between their trips to the mall. An unpretentious B-movie lark, it is a campy display of ‘80s girl power with plenty of nostalgia for mall culture, teenage shenanigans, and awesome synth pop.
