Rye, New York — The acclaimed Callisto Quartet will take the stage for an afternoon of chamber music on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester, 2125 Westchester Avenue, Rye, NY. The Callisto Quartet will perform a program featuring works by Haydn, Esmail, and Dvořák, presenting a combination of classical compositions and contemporary pieces.
As part of our Youth Initiative, a student quartet from Hoff Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale will be “opening” for the Callisto with a short excerpt from Mendelssohn‘s String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 13, followed by a brief mini-master class with the professional musicians.
The program will include:
- Haydn: Quartet in C Major, Op. 76, No. 3 “Emperor”
- Esmail: Ragamala
- Dvořák: String Quartet in F Major, Op. 96, No. 12 “American”
After the concert, there will be an interactive Q&A session with the musicians for the audience to learn about their artistic process.
