Black History Month Celebration at New Rochelle High School
The 11th annual Black History Month Celebration will take place on Saturday, February 11th at New Rochelle High School. A collaboration between the Westchester Alliance of Black School Educators (WABSE) and the New Rochelle Black History Month Committee (NRBHMC) with the New Rochelle Council on the Arts, New Rochelle NAACP, the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence, the Lincoln Park Conservancy, the City of New Rochelle and the New Rochelle City School District, this year’s event will be entitled Celebrating the Harlem Renaissance.
The free afternoon program will include spoken word and art show, a swing dance workshop, food, arts and crafts merchants, authors and booksellers. The evening program admission costs $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors and will feature student dance, drama and song performances, music by DJ Smithyboy and honors.
