CABARET ON THE HUDSON (Spring)

Back for a third season, our Cabaret on the Hudson series, in collaboration with NiCori Studios and Productions, presents highly acclaimed Cabaret artists who bring samplings of their New York City acts to the Irvington stage.

Whether you’re a longtime Cabaret fan or simply curious about this unique and captivating genre, you won’t want to miss this very special afternoon filled with mesmerizing songs and stories. In addition to beloved performers Carole Demas and Warren Schein, stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information about the other amazing artists who will be joining us for our spring program– Broadway veterans who have performed in New York City venues such as 54 Below, the Oak Room at the AlgonquinBirdlandFeinstein’s at Loews RegencyIridium, the Metropolitan Room and Jazz at Lincoln Center (to name a few).  The series is hosted by multi-nominated Cabaret singer (and host of the Music at the Mansion series)Corinna Sowers-Adler.

Carole Demas’ prolific 55-year career includes her creation of “Sandy” in Broadway’s classic ORIGINAL Grease — along with thousands of leading roles on and off-Broadway (including two years as “Luisa” in The Fantasticks, NYC) and regional theater (including ACT, Seattle; Penn State Rep, Milwaukee Rep). Demas originated The Baker’s Wife title role in LA, and was a Champlain and NY Shakespeare Festivals soloist. The beloved star of iconic children’s TV show The Magic Garden, Demas guest starred on classic TV dramas including Kojak, Mannix, and Barnaby Jones, with recurring roles on Edge of Night, One Life to Live and As the World Turns. She was a recent guest star in Blue Bloods and Allegiance.  Demas starred in PBS’s Showstoppers – The Best of Broadway.  Her Cabaret show at the Laurie Beechman Theater garnered rave reviews.  In addition to hundreds of live family concerts, Demas has performed at venues such as 54 Below, Metropolitan Room, New World Stages,and Concerts for City Greens.  For more information, visit:  www.caroledemas.com

Warren Schein has been performing on stages from New York to Los Angeles for over two decades. He has played lead singing roles in many stock and off-Broadway performances. He is also an actor and voice-over artist for television and radio and has recorded for The History Channel, Nickelodeon, WPLJ Radio, AMC, M&M’s and A&E.  For more information, visit: www.warrenschein.com

Series hostess, singer/actress Corinna Sowers-Adler, has been nominated as “Best Host of a Variety Show” and “Best Female Vocalist” for the 2012 and 2014 Broadway World Cabaret Awards as well as an Excellence in Theater Education TONY Award. Sowers-Adler was a featured soloist at the 25th Annual New York Cabaret Convention held in the Rose Theater of Jazz at Lincoln Center on October 21, 2014. She recently made her solo debut at Broadway’s Supper Club –54 Below. Sowers-Adler has also toured and performed her solo cabaret shows Stories, By Request, Songs From the Heart and Let Me Sing and I’m Happy at venues throughout the east coast.
