Art House Theater Day

Join us on September 24 for the first annual Art House Theater Day, celebrating the art house theater and the cultural role it plays in a community. It is a day to recognize the year-round contributions of film and filmmakers, patrons, projectionists, and staff, and the brick and mortar theaters that are passionately dedicated to providing access to the best cinematic experience.

We’re excited to share our exclusive Art House Theater Day film programming lineup! We’ll have hands-on activities following our kids programming, a photo booth in our lobby, and raffles before each Art House Theater Day exclusive program. As a thank you to our members, all members are entitled to one free small popcorn on Art House Theater Day.

PREVIEW SCREENING
Danny Says
Directed by Brendan Toller, Danny Says is a documentary on the life and times of Danny Fields, who since the 1960’s has played a pivotal role in the music and culture of the late 20th century. Fields worked with legendary artists like the Doors, Cream, Lou Reed, Nico, and Judy Collins, and managed groundbreaking acts like the Stooges, the MC5 and the Ramones.

A CLASSIC OF WORLD CINEMA
The Dekalog

Krzysztof Kieslowski’s legendary Dekalog consists of ten one-hour films inspired by the Ten Commandments, each exploring moral or existential issues faced by characters living in a stark apartment block in Communist Poland. Part of our Retro Revival series, all ten Dekalog films will screen from Sept. 23–29. Retro Revival is sponsored by Wine Enthusiast.
