ZOOM Professional Development Workshop with Dr. Micheline Malow


Including Youth with Special Needs in Visual Arts Classes

FREE 1.5-hour presentation, teaching artists will learn helpful tips and techniques about how to include individuals with high functioning, high incidence disabilities such as Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Learning Disabilities in successful visual art workshops, Zoom lessons, and artist residencies!

 

Join Dr. Micheline Malow to discuss specific issues you have faced in your teaching and how to enhance your work while successfully meeting the needs of all students.

Dr. Micheline Malow is a professor at Manhattanville College in the Department of Special Education since 2006. Dr. Mallow is the faculty liaison for the student chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), and teaches courses in Foundations of Special Education, Child Development, and Research in Special Education. She has presented papers at professional conferences and published articles on students who are at risk, effective teaching practices, and program reviews. She has also co-authored a book for Praeger Publishers, Adolescents and Risk. Dr. Malow sits on the school board for Blythedale Children’s Hospital and is on the executive board for the international organization Learning Disabilities Worldwide (ldw.org). As a New York state-licensed psychologist, Dr. Malow works with schools and students of all ages to obtain services and supports within the school environment in order to promote an optimal learning atmosphere for all.
